Ivan, an accomplished artist, began sculpting about 15 years ago with his sculptures becoming a natural and powerful extension of his art. Anniversary Trail - Liverpool

The Anniversary Trail connects the Trestle Trail (in Liverpool) to Pine Grove Park (in Milton). It is a scenic walk through a beautiful section of woodland and along the Mersey River.

The opening walk happened.... rain and all, Sunday April 3rd at 1pm. 

For those of you who missed the walk be sure to take in the azalea and rhododendron bloom, later this month.

The new eatery is all about local for the pair. The café was renovated by local contractors and many of the items in the café have been purchased or made locally, including shelves, countertops, chairs, and even custom made charcuterie boards.

The menu will have a local flair, with as much of it being sourced from local farms and establishments as possible. Even the bread will have local ingredients – Hell Bay Brewing Company is providing spent yeast for bread. Eventually, the owners would like to have a liquor license and sell local suds.

Syrian Family welcomed to Liverpool

March 24th, 2016 Liverpool’s Syrian refugee family was formally welcomed to the community.

The family comes from one of the worst war torn cities in Syria, and before coming to Liverpool, had been living in a large and overcrowded refugee camp in Jordan.

Liverpool's Main Street has seen a lot of changes in the 1960s with many of the older structures demolished to make way for new modern style of buildings. In 1960/1961 the Riverside Hotel was removed and the new Liverpool IGA was built on the same site.

Bobby Curtola In Liverpool

Bobby Curtola, (April 17, 1943 –) is an early Canadian rock and roll singer and one-time teen idol.  In the fall of 1959, sixteen-year-old high school student Bobby Curtola went from pumping gas at his father’s garage in Thunder Bay  Ontario, to the life of a teen idol.  The hit “Fortune Teller” was released in 1962 and went Gold in Canada. Curtola moved to Liverpool in September 2004 to the appreciation of a great many of his local fans. The 1960s singer hit the international spotlight with his 1963 hit, “Fortune Teller.” Over his career, he garnered 25 Canadian Gold singles and 12 Canadian Gold Albums.

On Aug. 26, 2005, Curtola performed before thousands of fans at Queens County Sea Fest in Brooklyn.

August 17th, 2013, in Liverpool, Curtola, Canada’s Rock n Roll legend, was awarded the Duke of Edinburgh Humanitarianism Award, for community service; to add to his collection of many others for his hard work, dedication and accomplishments.

Bobby said: “I am honoured to receive this award in the new place I call home, Liverpool!  And to receive it at the performance of Godspell, with these talented kids, it’s amazing”

A commemorative medal had been created to mark the celebration of both the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne in 1952, as well as the 40th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme in Nova Scotia.

The Nicholoadians Theatrical Society (TNTS), a not-for-profit theatre group, is presenting Godspell, a high-energy rock musical based on the Gospel of Matthew, and is full of songs, laughter, and stories. With well-known songs like "Day By Day", and toe-tappers like "All For the Best", Godspell appeals to people of all ages and interests.

Immediately following the Saturday evening performance, Canadian sensation, Bobby Curtola, will be bestowed the "The Prince Phillip Humanitarian Award" for his countless and enduring acts of humanitarianism.

Bobby Curtola first hit the pop charts in 1962, with hits including Indian Giver, Three Rows Over, Fortune Teller, and Hitchhiker. While his success on the Canadian charts has grown, Curtola remains selfless and humble, as proven by his tireless charity work for muscular dystrophy and service clubs across Canada. Curtola was appointed to the Order of Canada in October 1997, and will once again be honored for his benevolence on Saturday, August 17th with the "Prince Philip Humanitarianism Award".

You can call Gwen to make an appointment for your pet or you can just drop by and see her to arrange your pet's grooming, clipping and washing. She may be up to her shoulders in shampoo but that is when she is happiest. 

 

The word "grooming" may conjure up ideas of expensive salons full of primped poodles or one may think that grooming is for fancy people’s fancy puppies. Puppies DON"T need fancy haircuts or expensive baths with hot oil treatments yet failing to groom your dog’s is akin to neglecting to comb a child's hair and wash behind their ears. All dogs need grooming, but some dogs need more than others.
