August 17th, 2013, in Liverpool, Curtola, Canada’s Rock n Roll legend, was awarded the Duke of Edinburgh Humanitarianism Award, for community service; to add to his collection of many others for his hard work, dedication and accomplishments.
Bobby said: “I am honoured to receive this award in the new place I call home, Liverpool! And to receive it at the performance of Godspell, with these talented kids, it’s amazing”
A commemorative medal had been created to mark the celebration of both the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne in 1952, as well as the 40th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme in Nova Scotia.
